We regret to announce that Montana Suzuki Institute 2022 has been cancelled. Check back here in January 2023 for information on future MSI events.

Core Suzuki

Master

This is a short, semi-private lesson shared with other students. Parents and students listen while others receive individual attention. During the initial class, each student will be asked to play a memorized and polished Suzuki piece for the teacher – a musical “get to know you.” The teacher will use this piece as a means of technical and musical development throughout the week. Students may be asked to play their polished piece for the Thursday evening recital.

Repertoire

In this fun and dynamic group class, students in the same Suzuki book level learn how to play together as a group. Students work together on elements of style, phrasing, and communication. The repertoire literature is specific for each book level and will be posted prior to the Institute.

Technique

“Tech” is a group class with students in the same Suzuki book level that focuses on bowing, tone, fingering, and musical knowledge. A fun and interactive class, students often engage in musical games and activities to enhance learning.

Institute Observers

Teachers who want to observe classes must register as an Institute observer. Observers may choose their own schedules but may not attend teacher development courses. Observers will be given a nametag upon registration. FREE observation for teachers with 5 or more students registered for MSI. Please contact us for more information.

Note: Any adult who is not enrolled in teacher development courses or is not a parent/guardian of enrolled students must register as an observer.
